It`s Only a Movie - Kermode @ Warwick

A rather blurry shot of Mr Kermode signing his book after the show. There was a huge queue but that didn`t stop him chatting to each signee :)

It was a most enjoyable evening even for me (not an avid filmgoer) but a big fan of his review show on news24 and 5Live.

From looking like Jesse Birdsall to Werner Herzog being shot whilst being interviewed, it was all there. Wish we`d known about the question & answer session at the end. Might even have been able to think up a decent question! Plenty of enthusiastic film students in the audience did though.

Long Time No Write

Just noticed how long it`s been since I posted anything.

Lately most of my spare time has been taken up with family history, it`s addictive!

I`ve recently discovered my Great Grandfather`s army service record on www.findmypast.co.uk and managed to confirm a family story that he fought in the Boer War! And he had a brother listed on his next of kin that we were unaware of!

This was particularly satisfying because he doesn`t appear on the 1901 UK Census, despite a note from his wife on the 1901 Irish Census (he was from Cork City) saying he was in England?
